Mountain Kingdoms is offering a unique, escapist three-month overlanding trip for those wishing to flee 2009’s economic gloom.
In 2008 Steve Berry, managing director of Mountain Kingdoms, realised his dream by pioneering a new three-month overland route to India and the Himalayas. The trip – following a route through northern Europe, Ukraine, Russia, China and Pakistan - is now available to the public for the first time.
The ultimate 83-day overlanding trip departs August 16th and costs £13,995.
The price will include most accommodation - a mix of wild camping, guesthouses and hotels - transport costs, a five-day Himalayan trek, a tour of Rajasthan, and the flight home from Mumbai.
Mountain Kingdoms will provide two expedition leaders/mechanics throughout the journey and organise all necessary permits/visas. Transportation is in two specially adapted Toyota Landcruisers, one of which Steve will be showing off at the Destinations travel show in Earls Court February 4th-7th.
A detailed itinerary can be found on the Mountain Kingdoms website – Mountain Kingdoms – under the Overlanding section.
Clients are advised to budget an additional £3,000 to cover additional accommodation, meals and a training weekend plus other ancillary expenses.
