New flights to Israel being launched

Another airline has stepped in to provide flights to Tel Aviv from Luton after Thomson announced it was dropping its service to the Israeli city. The Thomson flights will stop at the end of April, but on May 3 El Al will start flying to the city from Luton six times a week.

From Sunday to Thursday, flights will depart from Luton at 12.15pm, arriving at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport at 19.05. On Fridays they will leave at 9.45am, arriving in Israel at 4.35pm

EL AL's chief executive for the UK, Uri Danor, said: "We are excited about our new venture and are working closely with Luton to launch the service in May. The flight timings are particularly good for passengers as our departures and arrivals will be at times when the airport is at its quietest, enabling swift boarding and disembarkation."
