AA flights to Belize

American Airlines is now start offering discounts on Belize flights. The tiny Central American country, sandwiched between Guatemala and Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, is appearing on more and more travelers’ itineraries thanks to the quality of its beaches, Mayan ruins and especially diving.

Belize’s rainy season begins in mid-June and resort rates are much lower then. Since the best weather is earlier in the spring, it’s wise to book your Belize vacation before the end of May.

In addition, Belize is very budget-friendly and English is the official language!

Here are some sample one-way fares:

New York City flights: $155
Chicago flights: $179
Washington DC flights: $179
San Francisco flights: $188
Miami flights: $199
Boston flights: $203

These fares are for each way based on round-trip purchases.

Many people who travel to Belize enjoy the budget-friendly island of Caye Caulker, which is surrounded by coral reefs. Ambergris Caye is a more high-end area with plenty of shops and restaurants.

Travel must take place Monday-Thursday and be completed by July 30th, 2009. Tickets must be purchased 14 days in advance.
