American Eagle, the short-haul affiliate of American Airlines, is partnering with Caribbean tourism officials to restore some
flights from its San Juan,
Puerto Rico hub to other islands in the region -- many of which had been slashed as part of a cost-cutting scheme last fall.
Beginning May 1, American Eagle will increase flight frequencies from San Juan to Tortola, BVI; St. Thomas; St. Croix; Guadeloupe; Martinique; Trinidad & Tobago; and Grenada.
The increases will remain in effect for at least the high season and could be retained year-round.
