Delta Dropping Flights from Springfield to Detroit

Springfield is losing it's direct flights to Detroit on Delta Airlines.

Springfield-Branson National Airport spokesman Kent Boyd confirms Delta plans to drop the daily one arrival and one departure flights to the Motor City on May 1.

The flights were part of the former Northwest Airlines route schedule when Delta bought Northwest.

Delta told the airport when the company shuffled it's flight schedule, there were no planes left to handle the Springfield-Detroit flights.

The airport will formally dedicate the new Midfield Terminal this evening. The terminal opens for business on May 6.
