New Non-Stop Flights from the US to South Africa

South African Airlines just announced a change in their flight schedules from New York to Johannesburg, starting May 1st (2009). The new schedule allows for many more same day connections both within South Africa and the region. You could be enjoying your first safari drive in Kruger National Park the day of arrival.
The new schedule also means you don't have to have a forced over night in Johannesburg any more if you're traveling on to Malawi, Zambia, Namibia, Mozambique and other regional destinations.

The flight time is shorter because this service will longer stop in Dakar (Senegal) for a couple of hours en route. Although when I flew that route last year, I really enjoyed sharing my seat row with some beautifully dressed West African ladies.
