New Sydney - Perth Daily Flights

The new Jetstar flights from Perth to Sydney will operate seven days a week from the Qantas Terminal at Perth Airport’s Domestic Terminal.

Perth Airport has warmly welcomed the announcement that Jetstar will commence a new daily Perth-Sydney service from 2 October 2009.

Flights from Sydney will arrive into Perth at 23:25 and then depart Perth at 00:05. Flight times will change slightly at the end of October when the east coast commences daylight savings.

Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches said, “The Perth to Sydney route is extremely popular with both the business and leisure market and the introduction of this new daily service will mean more competitively priced fares as well as greater access between the east and west coasts.”

Domestically, Jetstar currently operates twice daily flights to Melbourne, daily flights to Adelaide and three flights per week to Cairns from Perth.

Internationally, the airline flies to Bali, Jakarta and Singapore and its Bali flights will increase from four times per week to daily in August.

The announcement of the new service comes at a time when Perth Airport embarks on the major redevelopment of the roads, forecourt and walkways at the Domestic Terminals.

Improvements include streamlining the roads, introducing a new passenger pick up and drop off point, widening the footpath in front of the terminals, new undercover walkways and doubling the size of the current taxi pick up area. Completion of the works is expected in early 2010.
