direct flights to Chicago

Alaska Airlines going to start daily flights between Portland and Chicago on Nov. 15.

Flights will depart at 10:10 a.m. arrive at O'Hare at 4 p.m. Return flights depart Chicago at 4:45 p.m. and arrive at 7:10 in Portland. All times are local. The flight will use Boeing 737s.

“This new nonstop service provides customers with a critical link between Portland and the nation’s second-busiest airport, which has recently experienced significant capacity cutbacks by other airlines,” said Andrew Harrison, an Alaska Airlines’ vice president.

To lure new passengers, Alaska has a $99 one-way ticket offer that lasts through Aug. 31. The ticket must be used by Jan. 31, 2010.
