The runway had to be closed for over an hour at 6.30am while workers de-iced it, which had a knock-on effect on all outgoing morning flights.
One flight, jetting to Rome, was delayed by two hours, while others were only affected by a matter of minutes.
A spokeswoman for the airport said there had been a backlog of flights but it was clearing up over the afternoon.
