Free ski flights as another airline sale starts

Free seats on weekend flights are being offered to passengers from Stansted and Birmingham airports flying to Cuneo. Travellers from Liverpool, Bournemouth and Glasgow (Prestwick) can get free weekend flights to Turin.

Turin airport is convenient for skiing holidays in the resorts of Cervinia, Courmayeur and Sestriere, while Cuneo serves the resorts of Artesina, Limone Piemonte, and Prato Nevoso. The free seats can be booked until midnight on Monday January 12th for travel in January, February and March.

“Skiers have spent decades being held to ransom by high fares airlines and high cost ski companies who keep the cost of getting to the slopes unreasonably high. Ryanair’s guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges have ensured that millions of ski lovers can escape the confines of the credit crunch and escape on one of Ryanair’s 101 ski routes," comments Ryanair's Lesley Kane.

To reward workers for surviving their first week back at work after Christmas, Ryanair has today started a half price sale on one million seats. Fares have been cut to just €2.50 for travel in January, February and March, but you'll have to rush to grab a bargain as the sale ends at midnight on Sunday January 11th.

“Ryanair is delighted to brighten up the start of January with unbeatable fares of just €2.50 on over 300 great routes Europe wide. The first week back to work is always the worst and it can be the best time to book a short city break, a ski trip or a summer sun holiday," says Stephen McNamara of Ryanair.

"Our New Year price war will make it even easier for passengers to take advantage of Europe’s guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges. Our half price seat sale is the ideal weekend pick me up to lift the spirits and provides something to look forward to for 2009," McNamara adds.

Ryanair has announced that it carried 11% more passengers in December 2008 than it did in December 2007. A total of 4.37 million passengers flew with the budget airline last month.
