Cheap flights to Malaga

The event, which has become an integral part of Spanish culture, takes place between May 1st and 3rd and sees the town's cobbled streets, balconies and town squares become decorated with floral ornaments in the shape of crosses.

Commenting on the festival's appeal, a bmibaby statement said: "Many of the local town councils run competitions, so the flower crosses range from the weird to the wonderful.

"Temporary bars are erected along the streets and both locals and tourists congregate around these for drinks, tapas and traditional Spanish dancing."

The airline operates flights to Malaga and Alicante from Manchester, East Midlands, Birmingham International and Cardiff airports.

Bmibaby also recommended Belfast as a destination over the bank holiday weekend due to the Festival of Fools, which takes place from April 30th to May 4th.

The cheap flights carrier was launched in 2002 with one route to Malaga from East Midlands Airport.
