Grab your clubs and book cheap flights to Spain

Golf enthusiasts have been advised to bid farewell to the wet and windy courses on the UK and book themselves cheap flights to Spain, the most popular destination for the sport in continental Europe.

In an article for the Independent, Cathy Packe notes that there are 313 courses to choose from in Spain, along with a sunny climate that is likely to be more reliable for year-round golfing in the sun than the UK.

She notes that the Costa Brava, the Costa del Sol and the Costa de la Luz are all popular with golfers and that cities such as Barcelona also boast major fairways.

Ms Packe adds that there is also plenty for golfers to do once they have finished their day on the course and that there are even facilities available to help them improve their game, Britons planning on booking cheap flights to Spain may be pleased to hear.

And they may wish to follow the lead of television presenter Vernon Kay, who recently told the Telegraph that he always packs his golf clubs when he goes on holiday and has always had a chance to get them out.
