Cheap Goa-Sharjah flights

Air Arabia's low cost Goa-Sharjah-Goa flight will cost Rs 13,000 to and fro. The flight which will begin from April 16, 2009, will also connect Goa to several parts of the United Arab Emirates in just three hours.
The budget carrier Air Arabia announced the launch of the non-stop flights to Goa on Friday. The flights will also connect Kuwait, Doha, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dabi and other parts of the Gulf to Goa. The cost of the flights will range from Rs 13,000 to Rs 22,000.

Travel agents are expecting the flights to ferry 55,000 travellers to and fro every month. In a period hit by recession, agents are pinning their hopes on these flights with a large number of Goans employed in the Gulf and their families still based in Goa.

This latest launch will be Air Arabia's 13th Indian destination. The Sharjah carrier will operate the thrice-weekly service to Goa on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from April 16.

Flights will leave Sharjah at 12.25am and touch down in Goa at 5.05am. The return leg is scheduled to depart Goa at 5.50am and arrive in Sharjah at 7.35am.

With a high tourist inflow into Goa, the route promises to be of great potential for Air Arabia, especially since there are few direct flights from the UAE.

Air Arabia is also planning to provide a tourist visa service for Goa residents visiting Sharjah.
