Norwich board fund Swansea flight

The Canaries face Swansea in the Championship on Saturday and manager Bryan Gunn told BBC Radio Norfolk it will ease their preparations.

"We hope it'll make a big difference. We need to make sure we're rested up before the game," he said.

"Swansea's a long way away on a coach but this will make it easier, now we have to prepare the right way."

The Canaries face Watford at Carrow Road on Easter Monday, meaning the flight to Swansea will give them a longer break between games.

And Gunn is grateful to the club's board, especially considering current financial constraints affecting the sport.

"We're very thankful that we've got this opportunity to fly down, I'm sure the players are very thankful as well.

"I've had that sort of backing throughout my tenure, I'm very grateful for that. Now we need to repay the faith they've certainly shown in me and the players they've taken to the club," he said.

Norwich City's players funded their own flights to take them to their away match at Blackpool on 7 March but the Canaries lost the game 2-0.
