domestic Sri Lanka flights

Sri Lankan government announced today that it has re-started its suspended domestic flights service departing from Katunayake and Ratmalana airports to any local destination.

The new service provided by the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) is also available from Katunayake International Airport to cater to the passengers arriving at the international airport to take an air route to the interested domestic destination.

The Air Force said charter flights will be provided under its commercial flight unit 'Helitours' utilizing both aircraft and helicopters for intended tours. The airfares will be US$70 upwards.

The domestic flights service was suspended due to the terrorist threats and following the end of the war the SLAF has taken immediate steps to extend their services with the objective of providing a speedy transportation service to the public.

Earlier the national carrier SriLankan Airlines operated an air taxi service to several domestic destinations.
