United Airlines Makes Elite Status Easier

Members of United Airlines' frequent flyer program, Mileage Plus, now have an easier time qualifying for Elite Status.

The carrier is now offering travelers a chance to earn double Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) when they book and make journeys before June 15th.

Once they qualify for Elite status, Mileage Plus members will be rewarded with a host of perks they were not able to access previously.

"United's Elite customers enjoy an array of benefits that only United offers, including complimentary seating in Economy Plus, which offers up to five extra inches of legroom in the economy cabin, when available at time of booking," the airline said in a statement.

"They may take advantage of priority check-in, security and boarding lines, as well as complimentary upgrades."
